Description:
Care Today was established in 1991 and is now the largest family run residential childcare organisation in the Country. The founders have extensive experience of working with children and young people since 1970, in a wide variety of settings, including youth work, juvenile justice and residential childcare.
While working within the regulatory framework, we offer individualised child-centred packages with an emphasis on a return to family, transition to foster care or preparing young people for
independent living, where family situations are not possible.
The residential experience should be as de-institutionalised as possible – the base for outreach work in the community.
Care Today offers an individualised approach to residential care with 117 beds across 29 homes, ranging from one to ten beds in size.
Our DfE Approved Residential Special School is based on two separate sites, with a vocational annexe and is a recognised ‘Community of Communities’ therapeutic community (providing CBT, Psychotherapy, Art Psychotherapy, Counselling, Play Therapy and more).
Other Provision Includes:
Supported Accommodation for 16+Community Houses (Smaller Individualised focus).
Specialist Assessment Homes based rurally.
Positive Steps Intervention to support placements and provide added flexibility (including Outdoor pursuits)
Fostering Resource Centres offering continuous 24hr support/respite care to local foster carers.
City & Guilds Approved Training Centre with Direct Claims Status.
We are committed to providing the best possible care to empower young people and encourage them to reach their potential.
