Therapeutic provision: Via Dr. Ross Philips- Our homes set to understand the entirety of the young person entering our care. This is because we understand that when
trauma occurs it affects our sense of self, our sense of others, and how we view the world. Subsequently, a complex and multifaceted perspective emerges that can act as a barrier for most care homes. At Purecare we utilise a trauma-informed approach to reduce the effect of these obstacles and promote resilience in the face of hardship.
By training our staff to understand attachment and recognise the signs and symptoms of trauma, thus upskilling them to avoid possible re-traumatisation.
Dr. Phillips informs the care of the young person and delivers clinical supervision to the staff to support their development and protect them from the vicarious effects of trauma care.
Description:
At PureCare, we believe that young people should be continually nurtured and offered support relevant to their specific needs. We understand that it is essential that young people have the right for consistent support, to enable them to develop appropriate life skills that would aid them to integrate within the wider community and society.
Dr Ross Phillips is the Head of Psychology for Pure Care Homes. The company wishes to understand the entirety of the young people entering our care. At Purecare we utilises a trauma-informed approach to reduce the effect of the obstacles that our young people face and hope to promote resilience in the face of hardship.
By training our staff to understand attachment and recognise the signs and symptoms of trauma, this upskilling them to avoid possible re-traumatisation.
Dr Phillips informs the care of the young people and delivers coaching sessions to the staff team and managers to support their development and also protect them from the vicarious effects of trauma care.
Our work is to inform and support using psychological insights from research and to move from opinion-based decisions, to practice that is based on evidence from attachment science, using young people’s strengths and ensuring trauma-informed practice.
As a small provider, PureCare has the ability to provide bespoke care packages for young people – the flexibility awarded to a small provider allows us to ensure our care is personal for each young person, as well as enabling us to implement new processes and technology into our home.
All our homes and managers are also supported by Stuart Roberts, Head of Residential Operations and Responsible Individual, and Matt McGahan, Head of Care. Both Stuart and Matt offer support to the managers to ensure that the high standards set remain as the company continues to grow and go from strength to strength.
Our first home received the rare accolade of receiving a Good Ofsted rating within just 3.5 months of opening, going on to retain the Good rating a further two times with the latest Ofsted rating achieving Good with Outstanding elements. Our others are all rated as Good with Ofsted and our latest inspection, again, achieved Good with Outstanding elements.
