New Horizons Children’s Homes Limited operates a residential home, Bramble House, which is a privately run children’s home that provides residential care for children with emotional, behavioural and learning difficulties, ranging in age from 8 to 18 years old.
Bramble House is located 1 mile north of Maesteg, a small town in the Llynfi valleys, South Wales.
The management of the Home is underpinned by the requirements of the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 and their related regulations.
At Bramble House, we offer a home where the children feel safe, secure and nurtured. Our model is based on Positive Behavioural Management and Authoritative Parenting, in which we have an individualised approach to each young person to secure positive outcomes by using more suggestions, positive incentives and rewards and less commands, physical intervention and prohibitions. To complement this approach, we operate on a 1:1 staff ratio, thus ensuring that each young person receives the attention they need to support the development of healthy and meaningful attachments between the young person, staff, family members/carers and significant others.
Our Home Manager, a Registered Nurse, holds Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care and is experienced in supporting young people who have experienced trauma, neglect and abuse. She is supported by a team of male and female works, who have been carefully chosen based on their experience of helping and supporting young people and their families.
