Description:

BTH was established in July 2017. We are a therapeutic home for three YPs age 8-18 years and are able to cater for children with social, emotional and behavioural needs, as well as specialising in working with children with ASD and learning needs.

We offer a homely, loving, fun and caring environment and all our staff are trained to work with children using a 'trauma based model'.

We understand that children come to us often traumatised by childhood experiences and our role is to help them develop resilience, confidence and a 'sense of self' and self -worth, in order to play an important role in the community and society in general as they move on into adult life.

We understand that this process takes time and our staff offer patience, compassion, understanding, commitment, continuity, optimism and hope for the children in our care.

We are able to offer a variety of therapies such as counselling, play therapy, bushcraft, gardening, speech and language therapy and have access to a clinical psychologist for assessment when required.

All our YPs are encouraged to engage in outside activities such as sports, visits to places of interest, walks in country parks, theme parks, trips to beach, army cadets, dance clubs, allotment, bushcraft activities, putting on events to raise money for charity and to be part of the local community as much as possible.

We aim to ensure that all Ofsted quality standards are met so that the children in our care receive holistic support in all areas, in order to improve their outcomes for happy and successful futures as young adults.
