Description:

Landsker Child Care operates 3 or 4 bedded group living homes for Children & Young People, male and female in the “Child Looked After” system. It offers placements to Children & Young People who require a full assessment of their emotional, behavioural and educational needs.

Most Children & Young People will have experienced multiply ACE’s (Adverse Childhood Experiences) and will have spent a significant period of their life in foster or residential care prior to placement.

All homes are registered under Regulation & Inspection of Social Care Act (RISCA) (Wales) 2016. The registration authority is Care Inspectorate Wales, (Tel 0300 7900126).

Landsker Education is registered separately as an Independent Special School with ESTYN, the school’s inspectorate. Registration number 668 6016.

The school is approved to admit pupils between the ages of 8-18 under Section 162 Education Act 2002, who have emotional, behavioural and social difficulties, mild to moderate learning difficulties and ASD. Landsker Education is a registered examination center with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ).

Landsker Child Care’s Behaviour Support Policies and Training Programme is registered with the Institute of Conflict Management (ICM). This provides a comprehensive and coherent approach to the behaviour support of Children & Young People.

Therapeutic Life Story Work is coupled with an extensive suite of other therapeutic resources.
