Treasure Nest provides residential care for young people with behavioural and emotional difficulties aged between 8 and 18 years old. The homes primary objectives are:
To provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment, in which the day to day needs of each young person can be met; and their potential for personal development positively encouraged.
To help children and young people address and resolve behavioural difficulties as identified in their personal care plans.
To enable the child/young person to understand their rights and link with their responsibilities to society and other people.
To help the children/young people better understand the issues that have resulted in their needing to be 'looked after' by the Placing Authority.
To offer children / young people individual time and support as they grow and develop, this will enable them to sustain positive changes in their lives. this may be to a foster carer, independence or if deemed safe to do, returned to their own family or kinship networks.
To work in close co-operation with all other significant agencies / adults involved in the young people's lives to achieve the set aims and objectives as laid out in individual Care and Placement Plan or Pathway Plan.
We belives that young people should be recognised, respected, consulted and given a choice. We also believe thta they should have a good quality of life, and given equal chances in order to live positive and productive lives.
