Total number of children’s homes & other services: MacIntyre operates six children’s homes in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire: - Hillside in Bedfordshire is home to up to five young people who may also attend the nearby MacIntyre School in Wingrave - Woodland View in Hertfordshire provides supports for up to six young people, including one emergency placement - Four residential children’s homes attached to MacIntyre School in Wingrave, Buckinghamshire The mission of MacIntyre’s children’s homes is to support the children and young people in acquiring skills and experiences, so that they may take their rightful place in society, feel valued and are contributing members of society. Each home is led by a Registered Manager. Additional support is provided by MacIntyre’s team of specialists including Intensive Interaction, Positive Behaviour Support and Health. Our staff work closely with families, involving them every step of the way, sharing achievements and ensuring that a consistent, open relationship is maintained.

Description:

MacIntyre School and Children's Homes provide excellent education, 52 week care, and therapeutic support to children and young people aged between 10 and 19 with moderate to severe learning disabilities, autism and other complex behavioural needs.

We have been providing education for children and young people with autism and severe learning disabilities at MacIntyre School & Children's Homes in Wingrave, near Aylesbury since the 1970s. The current School and residential houses were purpose-built built within MacIntyre’s existing grounds in 2006.

Both our School and all our children's homes are rated 'GOOD' with Ofsted.
