Description:
Established 24 years, we offer packages of care in our small community-based homes, maximum occupancy of three young people, complemented by our unique range of placement options on our boats and mobile facility. Four homes have single occupancy. Minimum 1:1 staff ratio, with many young people on a 2:1 basis, enabling us to give them what they need most; appropriate attention, clear boundaries and consistency. Renowned for our child-centeredness, tenacity and imagination, we have never closed down a placement at short notice. Crisis intervention: for individuals/ placements at risk. Facilities on-board our Yacht ‘Prilika’ and ‘Charmaine’ (70’ narrow boat with facilities for disabled people) from short to long-term. Emergency bed care in three homes.
Uniquely, Care Afloat has ‘Waterworks’, our floating registered children’s home which can operate anywhere in the country, where there is a canal. Registered for one young person.
Available anywhere in England, our service ‘Mobile’ is activity-based and takes young people for short or long-term on imaginative and educational outdoor programmes. Ideal for breaking cycles of
destructive behaviour.
Young people on ‘Mobile’ can follow a pathway on to our other homes and services, including assessment and education. Mobile has had considerable success in providing long-term intervention
for young people previously involved in gang culture and sexual exploitation.
Individual and group holidays on wheelchair accessible narrow boat & chalet in South of France.
WE DO NOT GIVE UP ON OUR YOUNG PEOPLE!
