Description:
Sankofa Care is an experienced Social Care Provider within the Fostering, Permanency, and Residential Services. Through our multi-disciplinary approach, we are uniquely placed to achieve the best possible outcomes for children who have experienced childhood trauma.
Holly Lodge provides a safe, secure environment for up to nine children preparing them for a return to a foster, birth family or a move to independent living. Staffed by a team of experienced, dedicated and fully-trained residential care workers, we ensure a homely environment which is safe, fun and stimulating.
The needs of young people are identified, understood and fully met in accordance with individual care plans.
Staff development is an ongoing process that ensures that changing needs of young people continue to be met – as described in our Statement of Purpose. We value education and the
opportunities it brings; and every young person has a key worker who will ensure they feel listened to and supported during their time at Holly Lodge.
Every child accessing our residential care service can determine the decoration of their own bedroom and is given a voice in the running of the house through House Meetings and ‘Have Your Say Forums’.
We specialise in working with children and young people who present the following:-
- Challenging Behaviours
- At risk of sexual exploitation
- Emotional and/or behavioural difficulties
- Learning Difficulties (mild and moderate)
- Mental health difficulties (Depression, Anxiety, self-harm)
- Pervasive developmental disorder (e.g. Aspergers syndrome)
